Ever since I was six years old, I have been creating art. My dad is an artist- a sculptor and my role model. I grew up watching him create art and I fell in love with art the same way he did. I have expressed my creativity in many mediums- photography, ceramics, floral design… pick a medium, I’ve practiced it. However, painting became the object of my affection. Painting soothes my mental health and brings peace to me when I feel troubled. Watercolor, gouache and acrylic are the mediums of paint I use most frequently, watercolor being my favorite. What I love to paint most are skeletons. In addition to art, I grew up with a love and appreciation for anatomy. Painting skeletons in interesting positions combines my two loves. I begin by imagining a human in a curious position, and then I replace the human with only the bone structure. Sometimes I think of a song, a color, or an article of clothing to bring inspiration to my work, and then I begin creating around that concept. These skeletons have reignited my adoration for art and have brought me so much joy over the years.
